Washington County Community Action Organization

Centro Cultural Community Center
Cornelius, Oregon

The Centro Cultural Organization caters to the Hispanic community of Washington County by facilitating meetings, public presentations, fire and life safety training courses, health care classes, social dinners, etc.  The organization's accommodating new building clusters 6,000 square feet of multi-use and assembly areas into a space designed for maximum flexibility.  The project was funded by the Federal Block Grant Program.

"In addition to creating a design that has already become a landmark in the community, the AVL Group's forbearance, tact and resourcefulness helped to oversee the recent completion of the Cornelius Community Center...a major capital construction project that was constantly fraught with political, cross-cultural, and management challenges".
